Thrive 23 Logo

A minimalistic mockup showing a game being played on a white retro handheld gaming console.

A wordmark designed for an internal leadership conclave centred around employee well-being. The brief called for a wordmark, tagline, and year. These were my decisions behind it.

Colour
Yellow and orange for their association with warmth, energy, and optimism. For a well-being theme, cool or muted tones felt off. The two colours also swap roles depending on the background; orange logo on
yellow, yellow on orange, so neither dominates the other.

Typography
Josefin Sans is the font i used. Geometric and modern, but with enough sharpness to keep things grounded. The theme is warm and human, but it's still a corporate event; Josefin walks that line well. Small caps are used throughout to add a bit of personality without being loud about it.

The Hidden Detail
The v in "thrive" is tilted, with a curve sitting underneath it. Together they quietly form the bottom half of a smiley [>‿<] a nod to the well-being theme without spelling it out. The t is also slightly tilted to carry the same energy through the word.

Colour Logic in the Letterforms
On coloured backgrounds, T-H-R-I-E turn white while the v and curve hold the contrasting colour. White naturally draws attention first, anchoring the word. The v and curve get their own colour so they read as an intentional element, not just a letter with something underneath it.

Tagline & Year
On the white background version, the tagline and ²³ are set in 50% grey. They're supporting information, so they step back and let the wordmark lead.

Versatility
Works as a single-colour monochrome logo. The v and curve can also be pulled out and used as a repeating pattern for document headers or backgrounds, giving the identity something to work with beyond just the logo itself.
